Crypt Keeper

The wooden door gives slightly beneath your palm, pushing open and sending a gust of air through the room. A cloud of dust dances across the floor as the aroma of dirt and mildew rushes to greet your nostrils. Pieces of decayed wood fall to the cold concrete as you lift your hand from the door and step inside the crypt. Your eyes strain to adjust to the darkness when a sliver of light from the doorway illuminates the head of a corpse resting in the corner of the room. Sprouts of disheveled hair, gray and drained of all life, jut out in knotted masses from the cracked scalp of the shriveled figure. Brown, leathery skin webs across the face and over the desiccated muscles of the corpse’s sunken cheeks. Glimmers of bone are visible in small patches beneath the layers of dry decay. You can vaguely make out a piece of spoiled fruit resting in the right hand beside the figure. Curiously, you notice a bite of the fruit is missing and a trail of juice has started to ooze out and snake across the cement. Sudden movement draws your eyes to the mouth of the figure. The leathery skin of the cheeks quickly stretches back, creaking eerily across the face to reveal a few stained teeth below a devilish grin. The door slams shut behind you and darkness overtakes the room. The closing bang echoes before an unsettling cackle resounds throughout the room. Welcome, boils and ghouls! CRYPT KEEPER is here!
